The best is yet to come!

New Year’s Eve, wow it came back fast.  Funny how going through time it seems like it will never end and then after it has we wonder where it went.  The saying “Time Flies” could only have been said after the fact.

It was an interesting year.  For many it was a year of change and for others, some things never change.  For many it was a life-changing year with more downs than ups.  However, the downs only force the desire and need to look up.  Talk about mixed emotions.  While it is good to know that one is not alone in their struggles, and this past year certainly saw thousands of people around the world struggling, it is sad that in the 21st Century so many have to find themselves in positions of near poverty.  No matter how bad things get we can only remember there is someone near us that needs more help than ourselves.  Let’s all send out positive thoughts to everyone who can use a lift in 2011.  Thoughts create reality!  Let our thoughts create the reality we want and the reality we all deserve as a human being put on this planet to make things better for others as well as ourselves.

May 2011 be productive and see us all looking up to a future better than our pasts.
HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Looking ahead and opportunities

Coming up this week:
http://www.gaming.unlv.edu is where you'll find David Schwartz.  He's our guest this coming Thursday 12/16.  I'm looking forward to learning the history of gambling and it's connection with Las Vegas.  Who really did deal the first hand of poker?
We can also solve our computer problems with Lyle Epstien from www.KorteckSolutions.com
On Friday's Restaurant Show we meet Anthonly Giglio, writer, expert on food and wine and a man who can help us improve our dining experiences.
It's shaping up to  be a good week!

On the political side of things we'll talk about what our congress is doing during these last two weeks before recess.  Join us from 4 to 5 PM (PST) at lvrocks.com

The plans for 2011 are coming along but we need your help to make it all happen.  Taking the show back to five days a week, on Internet radio, and adding the live broadcast of the Restaurant show on terrestrial radio serving Nevada, all depends on having the advertisers supporting the effort.  If you, or know of someone who, can benefit from sending a message to the public please let us know.  The low cost advertising available can help a business grow, products and services sell and gain new long term customers.  The combination of Internet radio, reaching people around the world, and terrestrial radio heard by up to two million people in Nevada is a winning combination.  Be a part of the new world of advertising on a show dedicated to finding common sense in the world we live in.

A Friday thought.

Another weekend and another chance to learn something, we don't know, about the restaurant business.
David Hayden of tipsfortips.wordpress.com a great site for information and tips on the way to be a good server and diner.

Just a thought, but is the current drama being played out in Washington, just a plan to get things done?  Just maybe the Dems in congress are appearing to oppose the President because it will make the Repubs realize they have to give up the tax breaks for the rich in order to pass some extension of the Bush cuts.  Imagine the planning session for that to happen.

It's time!

Congress is playing games with peoples future.  Take a minute and send an email to your Congressman or Senator that the "mid-class" need the continuation of lower taxes and not the super rich.  The "Trickle down theory" just doesn't work and the 700 BILLION that would be added to the National Debt is unnecessary.
Go to usa.gov and find your elected officials contact information then SEND your comments.

Advertising brings results

Advertising makes the world go round.  Getting your message out to the people is the only way a service or product can be successful.  If no-one knows about what you do no-one can purchase the service or product you offer.  As times change so do the ways of advertising.  TRADING advertising time and space for gift certificates is the way businesses can advertise with NO cash outlay.  And when the gift certificates are presented the cost to the business is minimal.
The Dave Scott Show has now set up a way for you to advertise WITHOUT an outlay of cash.  Commercial announcements during the live show, repeated on the Podcast, included on the blog and facebook pages is now available to businesses around the globe.  Contact us and let's set up a program to advertise your products and services, letting people know what you offer and how good it can be for them.  dave-scott@cox.net is our email.  Find us at davescottshow@Twitter.com or on facebook it's TheDaveScottShow
Let's work together and get your message out to the people who can add to your success.

Join us on the show Friday 12/3 at 4 PM (PST) on lvrocks.com  Charity Winters will be with us to talk about food and wine on "The Restaurant Show."    www.charitywinters.com
